Something in a Shade of Grey
Dear non-east coast blog readers…
You see, in Halifax, donair and donair sauce is kind of a thing. You get some almost every time you order pizza or garlic fingers, almost anywhere in town.
I caused a small laugh/choking fest at my kitchen table over the Thanksgiving holiday when I described donair sauce to my family from Ontario (who have no clue what that is).
I was describing why I’m not really the greatest fan, because it’s a bit too sugary sweet for me. But also decided to be as classy and ladylike as I usually am, and shock them with: “well, it looks exactly like cum, so…”.
I sent this picture to them via text today after ordering pizza and the collective reaction was “ewwwwww” and “well you weren’t wrong”.
My only regret is that my boyfriend wasn’t there, so that it would have upped the awkward factor when everyone would’ve almost certainly slowly gave him the side-eye.
