Something in a Shade of Grey
How is your research coming along?

It’s been very frustrating! I’ve felt extremely stagnant and only recently have I begun to make any sort of progress… during the busiest part of the year for the Clinical workload. Eesh.

My topic kept changing, I’d try to develop stimuli and fail and have to go back to the drawing board. I’m new to the cognitive/psycholinguistics stuff so I really was floundering for a while there.

I’ve got a new paradigm now that will hopefully stick, working with (auditory) sentence frames, looking at the influence of orthography on phonology.

Basically just working on reading as much of the literature as possible and developing my proposal which is due in about a month, which is a pretty huge undertaking in and of itself as it’s seen and reviewed by the entire graduate committee.

Hopefully when I’m not working at the golf course in the summer I can get all of the ethics done, all pilot testing done, and hopefully if I’m really awesome start running participants, but that’s not something I’m confident about yet.

Really my attention right now is just focused on getting my 3 hour lecture/presentation that I’m doing on Tuesday for my Psychotherapy class done…
