Rest In Peace
Incredibly sad to hear about the death of Jack Layton this morning. My mom called me because she assumed I’d want to know right away. What a shame- the man was in his prime and had just accomplished more than any other person in his party to date. I’ve met him and he was a lovely person and I liked his stance on many political issues. Very sad to hear that he is gone and I feel for his family and friends, and what this means for the state of politics in Canada. He was the right person to be nipping at Harpers heels.
I don’t usually feel anything for public figures but I am kind of rattled about this one.

My mom texted me as soon as she found out too. I couldn’t / still can’t believe it. It’s soo frustrating thinking how wonderful he was. I wish I had met him. Thank goodness he no longer has to suffer though. RIP.
